May 15, 2004 - Monthly Society Meetings.
All are invited to attend. The monthly meetings are held on the third Saturday of every month at 1:00 PM at 270 W. Burton Lane, Kaysville, Utah.

New LDS Church Building on the north side of the road. Enter the east parking lot and east entrance and go to the Primary Room on the north end of the building.

PLEASE NOTE: If there is still construction on I-15 at the HWY 89 exit south of our meeting place, it is best to go up to the exit used by people coming from Ogden and follow those instructions.

COMING FROM THE NORTH:

  • Get on I-15 traveling South from Ogden area for example
  • I-15 Exit at 200 North Exit in Kaysville
  • Go 4-5 blocks to Main Street (Hwy 273) and turn Right (South)
  • Go 3 blocks to 100 South St. and bear right 20 feet to connect to 50 West St. which goes directly South, while Main Street bears to the left
  • Travel 1/2 mile past the 2 Burton ponds on the right and intersect BURTON LANE and turn Right (West)
  • Go over the I-15 overpass and see the new LDS Church at the railroad crossing
  • Church Address 270 Burton Lane

COMING FROM THE SOUTH:

  • Get on I-15 traveling north from Salt Lake for example:
  • I-15 Exit at Lagoon onto Highway 89 going north.
  • Go to the first traffic light at Shepard Lane (Highway 106) and turn Left (West)
  • Travel on the bridge over I-15, where the road makes a jog to the left and returns to its westerly route, then bears right again and intersects Sunset Drive
  • Turn right at Sunset Drive (North), across Baer Creek for 1/2 mile to Burton Lane on the Right
  • Turn right on Burton Lane (East) and follow it to the railroad track, where the new LDS Church is, at 270 West Burton Lane

May 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. - Stewart Family Research Presentation: "Genealogist seeks Stewart descendants."
Mr. Lee Stewart, genealogist of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, England and now of Los Angeles, California will present his findings on the ancestors of the William Stewart (1824-1905) and his wives Mary Ann Marriott and Susannah Mansell, May 1 at 2 pm at the Davis Applied Technology Center, LDS Institute Building, 590 E. and 350 S. Call Mrs. Roselyn Slade for information: 801-544-3835 or JoAnn Mertlich Lyon at 801-966-1173 (Salt Lake City).. The Ogden Standard Examiner had an article 3-11-04.

Mr. Stewart will be sharing his knowledge of the Stewart, Marriott, Mansell, and allied lines that he has researched going back to the 1500s. He is desirous of getting acquainted with all who attend and is hoping you have lots of questions for him.

If you have any pictures, documents, pedigree charts, etc. of yur particular line or lines that you think would be of interest to others, we invite you to prepare a poster for display. We are hoping this will be an occasion to mingle with fellow descendants of these good pioneer families and have a great time sharing information.

  • Can someone to pick him up at the airport 1-2 days early and return him to the airport? He will be making some family contacts and historical visits while he is here.
  • Can someone offer Mr. Lee Stewart and his wife a room for the 2-3 nights he is here?
