Patriarchal Blessing
June 23, 1891

A blessing given by Patriarch O. N. Lilenquist on the head of Hyrum Willard Marriott, son of John Marriott and Elizabeth Stewart. Born 6 Dec 1863 in Marriottsville, Utah, Brother Hyrum Willard in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the virtue of the holy priesthood, I seal upon you your fathers and a Patriarchal Blessing, with the covenant, that these blessings may rest down upon you in mighty power and fill thee with the light of life that you may live and honor the Lord thy God, fulfill the mission unto which you have been appointed, even before you were born, for you are destined to become a laborer in the Lord's vineyard, a preacher of righteousness by precept and by example a messenger of peace of life and salvation unto tens of thousands of the human race, already among your brethren, and in as much as you will listen to the still small voice, and call upon the Lord in mighty prayer, you shall be as the salt of the earth, and be filled with the saving influence, your mind shall be calm as the summer morning, you shall be prospered and blessed, in all they lawful undertakings, grow in faith and in intelligence and be full of the testimony of Jesus, understand the signs of the time, enjoy the riches of Eternity with the blessings of the earth, and the day will come whey you will have plenty. Flocks and herds, fields of orchards, houses and lots of gold and silver, because thy heart is to do good and be kind to the poor and the needy and to those that need someone to lead them and help them. You will not set your heart upon the things of this world, therefore will the Lord give thee in abundance, as soon as your heart is fully set upon his kingdom and upon the ministry and you have learned to confide in the Lord, then you shall be great, good and wise, and become a shining light, have power with heaven and on the earth among your brethren and sisters, the Lord bless thee and keep thee from evil, and bestow upon thee the revelations of his holy spirit, and his holy angels watch over thee by night and by day, until you shall enjoy all these blessings and until the power of God shall rest upon thee in great glory thou art of the tribe of Ephraim and an heir to the fullness of the holy priesthood, with crowns kingdoms and glory and with a numerous posterity you shall have power over sickness, pestilence and death and stand as a savior on Mt. Zion, have part in the first resurrection and rein with they redeemer upon the earth a thousand years as one of his Kings and priests. All of which seals and blessings I seal and ratify by virtue of my office through your faithfulness and seal you up unto eternal life.
