William Morris
Patriarchal Blessing — Feb. 24, 1869

No. 116. Marriott Settlement, Weber Co, Utah Feb. 24, 1869. John Skoldebrand Patriarch. (44:99)

Patriarchal blessing of William Morris, son of William & Elizabeth born in Malboroughstock, Shropshire, England, Feb. 27, 1821.

Brother William, in the name of Jesus Christ I lay my hands upon thy head to pronounce and seal a blessing upon thee, as the spirit may direct for thou art of the house of Israel and entitled to the blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; and I say unto thee, be of good faith and of good cheer, for better days await thee, for the Lord knoweth thy integrity, He hath heard thy prayers and will answer thy petitions and if thou wilt be diligent and live up to thy privileges thou shall be a savior of thy father's house and also of many of thy kindred, and thou shalt assist in gathering scattered Israel, and thou shall assist thy brethren and exhort them to faithfulness, and be blessed in thy labors both temporally and spiritually, and fill up the measure of thy creation upon the earth, and be numbered among the fathers in Israel; for thou art of Ephraim and entitled to the blessings of the New and Everlasting Covenant, and thou shall accomplish a good work which will secure unto thyself salvation with thy posterity, and thy name shall be handed down in honorable remembrance and written in the Lamb's Book of life, and through prayer and faith thou shalt be blessed in thy outgoings and incomings and in thy basket and store. This with the former blessings I seal upon thy head, and I seal thee up into eternal life, to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection with many of thy kindred and friends. Even so, Amen.
