Become a Member

There is no cost to join the John Marriott Historical Society. We want all of our relatives and friends to feel like we are providing an outstanding resource for us all to stay in communication with each other, share family information and help each other achieve our genealogical research goals.

There are two types of memberships: Decendant Members and Friends of the Society. We want all of our relatives to become Decendant Members, as soon as possible. We are building a decendants chart to help us find everyone. You can help us by sending us a list of your family members and their e-mail addresses, so we can invite them. All decendants of John Marriott, Sr. will become full members, with voting rights and the ability to purchase things in the Links section at member discount rates. You can also have access to the "lost members" and "lost relatives" list in the directories on the website, to help us find them.

Friends of the Socity who want to receive emails about our activities and new information and newsletters are invited to join us as non-voting members, without the privilages of decendants.

Those who are not relatives and are doing research in our 3 generation areas are invited to have access to our society, limited to research. We encourage you to use our research for your benefit and to hopefully contribute to the ever increasing body of genealogy research that we are discovering on our joint lines. We thank you for your interest and hope we can work together successfully.

NEW MEMBER GOALS

1. APPLY — Fill out the new member information on the website. You can do that by Contacting Us.
2. SHARE — Share things from the boxes in your closets and stacks of family history by scanning and uploading to the website.
3. HELP — Offer to be on a committee or use some talent or interest to help us grow the family history of the family for everyone to enjoy. You can do that by Contacting Us.
4. WEBSITE — Start your own family website, since we are only covering 3 generations after John Marriott, Senior. You can do that by contacting 1FamilyNet (1FN) by leaving a message in the Contact Us section or call at 1-866-640-9300 — 1FN is all about families.
